Fixed-layout reflective reader

Grounded

A reflective book reader where layout, color, and pacing are part of the text.

Grounded interface preview

Project story

Why it exists.

Grounded is not just a page with text on it. The app locks the page canvas, scales the whole book as a designed object, supports spread mode, responds to keyboard and swipe navigation, and keeps the reading controls quiet.

The content has a direct voice: grounding, silence, movement, sanctuary, attention, acceptance, listening, service, absurdity, and the next step. The interface supports that voice instead of burying it in generic ebook chrome.

The palette and typography engines matter because this kind of book lives or dies by atmosphere. The reading system gives the words weight, spacing, and a sense of ritual.

Direction

How the idea becomes usable.

Locked page geometry

Each page keeps its internal layout while the full canvas scales, which protects the book design across screen sizes.

Palette and typography engines

Reader palettes, dark mode, and typography modes let the book shift mood without breaking its structure.

Reflective content system

Chapters, pull quotes, resting pages, and closing lines are generated from structured book data instead of hand-placed screenshots.

The concept can be hosted first as a lightweight portfolio preview, then expanded with the services, storage, and analytics required by the real product workflow.
